Hi! I'm Nikki

I created Cedar & Sage because I wanted to offer an INCLUSIVE yoga practice rooted in the TRUE teachings of yoga. I firmly believe by following yoga's principles, we can unite together to create a more peaceful and liberated world that uplifts, respects, and embraces all walks of life.

Nikki is a certified RYT200 Yoga Instructor that learned teaching methodologies in the stye and linage of Krisnamacarya; who was well known for adapting his practice to each individual students needs. The teachings and methodologies are rooted in the Astanga Yoga Darsana and include: Vedic Sankhya philosophy, Yamas, Niyamas, Asana Theory and Practice, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, Ayurvedic concepts and relationship, yogic anatomy and physiology, loops and spirals alignment, Prana, Chakra, Mantra, Mudra, and much much more.

Nikki came to yoga at a very young age but did not begin to embrace the practice until 2015, when she became sick with an illness doctors could not figure out. Yoga seemed to be the only place where she could practice gentle movement and find a sense of relief and peace. It was through a dedicated yoga practice and other ayurvedic treatments that she was able to find health again.

Over the last ten years she has worked with federal agencies, universities, and Tribal Communities in North America and abroad on projects that provide support for environmental and cultural protection, and racial equality and equity.

She decided to officially become a certified yoga teacher to teach others and herself how to create freedom for all by following yoga philosophies. It was Krisnamacharya that said, “if you can breathe you can do yoga.” Yoga is for EVERYONE no matter your background. We we need these lessons (or reminders) more than ever.

A Cedar & Sage Vow to You
